  • Build up the background about the topic.
  • Have idea what the lecture is about.

From this activity, in the first place, we need to pay close attention to the pictures provided. The lecturer then asked us to remember all the pictures there by re-asking. This is because the lecturers want to see our level of memory in remembering something.

Everyone have their own life goals so do I . I have academic and life goals . Academic goals are the things that I want to achieve before I graduate my diploma.

What is a goals ?
  • Something you would like to achieve.
What is the purpose of setting goals ?
  • Goals give you direction and keep you focused on where you want to end up.


Characteristics of goals
  1. Specific 
  • State exactly what you want to achieve. Can you break a larger task down into smaller items.
2. Measurable
  • Establish clear definitions to help you measure if you're reaching your goal.
3. Action-oriented

  • Describe your goals using action verbs, and outline the exact steps you will take to accomplish your goals.

4. Realistic
  • Give yourself the opportunity to succeed by setting goals you'll actually be able to accomplish.
5. Time-bound
  • How much time do you have to complete the task?Decide exactly 
Types of goals
Short-term goals
  • Usually accomplished quickly (less than 1 years)
  • Example : buy a new phone or write a resume.
Long-term goals
  • Usually takes longer to accomplished(6 month-years)
  • Example : learn a second language and speaj fluently.
